A8. Integrations to other systems

With well planned integrations you will be able to avoid having to log into multiple locations, and you will be able to make sure that there are no mistakes in the information used in all necessary processes and functions. It is Sympa´s philosophy that integrations are a natural part of the modern IT infrastructure, and that they can be utilised to maintain HR-data.

Collaboration of multiple experts

A lot of people are involved in the integration project, which is why it is vital to plan a timely start. It is important to contact the third party system providers, as well as the experts within your own organisation right from the start of the project. This will ensure that you will have the best experts available within the desired time frame.

Sympa will be responsible for defining the integrations in the integration project, documenting, and the technical execution of performing tests between Sympa HR and the appointed interface or server.

The third party system provider will be responsible for implementing and testing between their own system and the appointed interface or server.

The customer is responsible for coordinating the cooperation with the third party system providers and to agree on a time schedule for the integration workshops. The integration project includes one common workshop, which shall be realised once the handling of the information to be transferred in the integration in Sympa HR has been determined.

During the integration project the client will furthermore provide Sympa HR with enough employee information in order to facilitate testing.

Ensure the necessary expertise

Make sure to also invite experts from different parts of the process to be part of the project.

A payroll expert for example plays a crucial role in the integration project, so as to ensure that all the necessary information flows in the integration process in a way that facilitates their work.

Which data is to be transfered in the integration?

It is best to use the integrations as effectively as possible, so that the amount of manual work and data entry into multiple different locations are reduced.

Sometimes, for example manually performing the annual data transfer or even manual data input can be more sensible than a small integration project. We will gladly assist you in estimating these needs.

Sympa HR API available for use by the system administrators

You can also implement the Sympa HR integrations yourself. Your IT department can work together with third party system suppliers by utilising the Sympa HR Integration API.

Sympa´s REST API includes

  • search for information of your choice from the Sympa HR system (GET)
  • in the format JSON (OData)

A8.1 Contact your third party system providers and find out their contact person, time schedule and other things that need to be taken into account in the integration project. Enter the information into Freedcamp. Make sure to remember that you also agree on the costs for their part of the work for the integration.
